Police support the International Day Against Homophobia

Dyfed Powys Police are demonstrating their support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) staff and members of the community they serve by recognising the International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO).

Dyfed Powys Police officers and staff will be recognising international ‘Zero Tolerance Stop Homophobia’ on May 17 by wearing Orange IDAHO Awareness Ribbons.

Supporting Hate Crime Victims

Dyfed Powys Police now has specially trained officers to deal with hate crime victims.

A Hate Crime Pilot Scheme has been operating in Powys and proved so valuable it has now been spread throughout the force.

Dyfed Powys Police will be flying the rainbow flag above some of its buildings in February in support of lesbian gay bisexual transgender history month.


The flag will be touring the force as part of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) History Month which takes place every year in February and celebrates the lives and achievements of the LGBT community.
